Schneider Family Book Award

I’m way behind on posting updates because, well, life. But in case you didn’t hear me screaming about it all last year, THE WORDS WE KEEP won the 2023 Schneider Family Book Award! That’s why the book will have a fancy schmancy shiny sticker on it from now on.

This award means everything to me. It’s given by the American Library Association for a book that uses art to best depict the disability experience. For a book about mental health, especially anxiety, to win speaks volumes. I’m so proud of Lily and Micah and this book for bringing awareness to how living a beautiful, successful, wonderful life hand-in-hand with anxiety can be difficult, but also possible!
